Before We Go is an app for planning and packing trips together. We respect your privacy and collect only the data needed to run the service.
The data controller is the Before We Go team. For privacy matters contact: beforewegoapp@gmail.com.
Account: email address, name and avatar (if you sign in with Google or email).
Guest mode: an anonymous session identifier, no email.
Trip data you enter: trip name and dates, destination, packing/shopping/task lists, participants (names, optionally age) and assignments.
Technical data required for the session (login cookies).
We process data solely to provide the service (creating and sharing trips, lists, sign-in). The basis is performance of the service agreement and your consent where required.
Supabase: database and authentication (EU region).
Vercel: application hosting.
Google: sign-in with a Google account (optional).
Open-Meteo: weather forecast (no personal data).
Photon / OpenStreetMap: place suggestions (no personal data).
Google Gemini: packing suggestions from trip context (optional; includes participant names, type and age where provided; in the EU prompts are not used to train models).
PostHog: analytics on how the app is used, so we know what to improve (EU region; only with your consent).
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. They're always active and don't need consent.
Analytics (PostHog) only runs if you agree to it. We ask on your first visit, and you can change your mind later in Profile → Analytics. We use one cookie to remember that choice.
We keep data for as long as you use the service. You can delete a trip in the app at any time, and request deletion of your account and all data at beforewegoapp@gmail.com.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object. To exercise these rights write to beforewegoapp@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
We may update this policy. We will communicate material changes in the app.
